Its been over 4 months since I quit my job and became a freelance software developer. I am enjoying every moment of my freedom and have also been able give some quality time to this blog. When I look back and think about reasons why I quit my job and what motivated me to become a freelancer, a lot of points come to my mind. But here are the top reasons that I think you should become a freelancer.

Number Five:

Because your boss thinks you take too many toilet and coffee breaks. He thinks your lunch break is too long. Because your boss decides how much you’ll get paid the next year and not your work.

Number Four:

Because your company charges $100 per hour on your behalf and pays you less than $10 per hour. As a freelancer you’ll know where the money is coming from where it is going.

Number Three:

Because commuting to and fro your workplace should not eat up more than 30 mins of your time per day. As a freelancer you’ll commute from your bedroom to your study room and all of a sudden you’ll have a lot more time with you.

Number Two:

Because you’ll definitely make more money than what you currently are. There might be some difficult times initially but ultimately you’ll make more money and it will be much more satisfying.

Number One:

Because you’ll do so much more and better. Apart from working on projects, you’ll have to handle clients, find new ways to make money, learn about damage control etc… You’ll virtually run your own business.
