Controversial cabinet
September 10, 2004
Imagine India’s top cabinet ministers debating on a high school topic – Advantages of IT. One being the most “respected” Mr. Laloo Prasad Yadav (You guessed it correctly he was taking against) and the IT minister Mr. Dayanidhi Maran. Now imagine the scene where one of them talking in hindi, while the other who doesn’t even understands hindi’s h. I believe it’s a great shame for the cabinet headed by one of the most respected (this time I am not being sarcastic) leaders of the Indian politics to discuss the most trivial issue on this earth. Now, didn’t they find anything better topic to debate on?
It is pretty obvious that IT has played a major role in putting India on world map and if not anything else IT is one reason today the world is coming to India. The point Mr. Yadav was arguing on was that the technology has not benefited the mass of Indians, particularly in the rural areas. “Then why the hell are you occupying the one of the top offices? Its your duty to come up with policies so that the technology benefit mass Indians and not keep complaining about the opposition to your godmother – Mrs. Gandhi.” Even the 6th grade kids have stopped complaining to their mothers when they have a fight with their friends in the school. Grow up Laloo.
In the morning Mr. Yadav talks about the so called ill effects of the Information Technology and in the evening he inaugurates the program where the people can book their railway tickets using their mobile phones. Now, this is the heights of being hypocrite. It was for good that the IT minister did not understand even a single word of what Mr. Laloo spoke. There are situations where lack of communication helps.
